After work and school today, the girls and I will be 'unplugging' for the weekend. No .TV/DVR/DVD. No texts or facebook. No iphone apps, surfing the web, or angry birds. Just a weekend of enjoying each other's company, exploring some museums, playing some board games, a visit to the nature center, geocaching, watching a classic family movie at the Redford Theatre, and celebrating earth hour. Sure, we will miss all of those things which have become a part of our everyday life, but some times, you just have to unplug from it all.
"Most of the luxuries, and many of the so-called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind. With respect to luxuries and comforts, the wisest have even lived a more simple and meagre life than the poor."
~ Henry David Thoreau
