Five climbing ropes & a monkey-like girl

Kennedy continued her monkey-like proness at the climbing ropes at the Michigan Academy of Gymnastics tonight. Sadly, I missed last week's climb of the 4th rope (which she said was hard), but she was eager to try the 5th one tonight and she sure made it look easy.   She went home with the rope-5 certificate, a medal, and a huge smile for successfully climbing all of them.

I know that climbing the ropes is just one tiny part of the gymnastics program there, and that there will be areas that she struggles in, but with every successful climb of them, her self-assurance raises another notch, and in today's society where a young girls ego and self esteem are constantly being challenged, even the tiniest bits of success are a fantastic step in the right direction.

Good job Kennedy -- I'm proud of you!
