Candles with nature's touch

The girls and I headed to Oakwoods nature center this morning for a program on making candles.  We learned about the different kinds of wax that has been used through the ages -- from tallow to soy wax, and the oils and extracts that can be added to give it that "outdoorsy" scent.   After the lecture part of the program, we then got to make some candles of our own to take home.   Coincidentally, a freecycler gave us a large box of candle making supplies today, so we get to have some additional fun at home.
