The arrival of autumn usually brings with it a lot of additional programs at the Monroe County Libraries and today, the girls and I attended one at the Frenchtown Dixie branch where we made a scarecrow.
To prepare for making it, yesterday we stopped at the Salvation Army thrift store and found a perfect pair of coveralls and a flannel shirt. We added a bandanna and a straw hat and had everything that we needed for a scarecrow except for straw which the library provided.
The morning rain nearly changed or mind about going, but I sure am glad that we went. Not only did we make a cool (albeit chubby) scarecrow, but we also found a great branch of the library system that we had not been to before. We surely will be going back for future programs.
