Catching up on our October adventures....
(10.17.2010) One of our favorite autumn activities is to go Trick or Treating at the zoo. Its tradition to go to Binder Park zoo out in Battle Creek, but since the girls were planning on doing that with their mom this year, we decided to try out the event that the Detroit Zoo hosts.
We didn't look to the event as a venture to get candy (as you really don't get THAT much). but rather for the atmosphere, activities, and of course to have yet another memorial adventure. We sure weren't disapointed!
It had been several years since we had gone there for it. The last time was probably back in 2006 and I remember it being so crowded that you literally were walking on the heels of the person in front of you. This year it didn't seem nearly as busy. Perhaps it was because the time we picked was late on a Sunday night. We enjoyed the walk from treat station to station, admired the jack-o-lanterns, and stopped in for the 4d movie.
This won't replace our annual Binder Park tradition, but I'm pretty sure that it will find its way onto our autumn calendar in every year.
