The girls and I rushed home after grocery shopping tonight so that we could make it to Romulus for their annual Parade of Lights. We arrived not only a little early, but with plenty of time to get some free hot chocolate, hot dogs, and popcorn, and to find a good curbside place to sit.
I was a little sad to see the the parade this year had dwindled in size, and many of the elaborate floats and displays that we saw just last year were missing. Despite its small size this year, we still had a good time, and right now, as I glance over, I see Kennedy fast asleep, yet still grasping her glow necklace and a sucker that she got at the parade. The dismal economy may take its toll on community events, but as long as we don't allow it, it is powerless to effect the fun times that we spend together.
