March of Dimes walk

Today, the girls, Tessa and I participated in the annual March of Dimes - March for Babies walk at Sterling State Park. All week, the forecast had called for rain, but it appeared that there was only a 10% chance during the time we would be walking.

We arrived just as the walk was beginning and while there were a lot of walkers, I think that the threatening rain, and occasional sprinkles, kept many people away. In the back of my mind, I expected the girls to want to stop about midway through the three miles, but to my surprise they never said anything...well, until a steady rain started. With about a mile left, those occasional sprinkles turned into a downpour and it lasted all the rest of the way back to the car.

As the last photo shows, we were soaked, but we still had a good time, and I think that the girls felt good about the contributions that they got from friend and family and helping towards this worthy cause.
