The girls, their friends Jackie and Jayde, and I went to the Carleton library last night for their monthly movie night and saw The Princess and the Frog. Despite many negative comments about this Disney movie (inappropriate mixture of New Orleans, black characters, voodoo, etc.) I thought that the movie was great and I am sure that we will see it again. Sometimes I think people are just TOO sensitive.
The characters kept the girls laughing (okay, maybe it was also the gas-filled little girl who was sitting next to Kennedy) all evening and they seemed to enjoy themselves. I think my favorite character was the Cajun accented, broken toothed, bayou firefly Ray.
Lately, it seems that all of the movies we see at the library I find enjoyable. Either the librarians and I have similar taste, or that I just found the kind of movies that are on the same intellectual level as I am.
