Yes it was an hour out of our way, but the history geek in me wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to add a little history to our trip and to the girls' lives. Today we visited the town of Paint Lick, KY and the plantation location that inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin. We also saw the supposedly haunted grave of General Thomas Kennedy -- the brutal slave owner. Local legend says that even in the afterlife, God is still punishing him by having lightening repeatedly strike his gravestone. Because of that, he is unable to Rest In Peace and wanders the cemetery.
