It's tough to be a dad tonight. I expected to wake up and use the election results as a way to show my daughters that a woman...even if disparaged and viewed as flawed, could be anything she wanted to be. Instead, I have to try to find a way to explain how, in the name of change, a majority of our country looked past someone being a bully, a bigot, a racist, a xenophobe a homophobe, and a misogamist...they ignored spewed words of intimidation, hatred and anger...and despite all that, and a proven record of financial failures and ZERO experience, still elected that someone to be the most powerful person in the world. We teach our children to be compassionate and caring. To always try to the the "right thing". To treat others with respect and the way that we want to be treated. Yet tonight, many Americans turned their collective backs on all of that...in the name of change. God help us!
