Well, its taken all of May, but we finally had a day where activities (or rain) didn't fill our evening... so, we spent it at Willow park doing a little geocaching and playing at the playscape.
We kicked off the 7th annual Metroparks Geocaching Adventure by finding the Willow cache. I really enjoyed the smell of the blooming autumn olive as we walked along the bike trail on the way to the cache location. It didn't take long to find the cache and the kids also enjoyed playing on a nearby tree. While we were in the park, we also found another nearby cache and enjoyed the view of the Huron River. I really enjoy the metropark series, and look forward to being involved in the annual end of summer picnic this year. Now if I could just get to those northern parks to find the caches up there.
As darkness neared, we spent some time at the playscape. Trying to race Riley on one of the playsape structures, I slipped and fell and spent the rest of the evening nursing a badly sprained ankle.
We closed the evening with hot dogs, smores, and ghost stories around the fire in the backyard.
