For, lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of the singing of birds is come,
And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.
~ Ernie Harwell
Nothing says "Its spring" better to us than Oakwood's Nature Center's annual maple syrup program/pancake breakfast and Stan & Ruth's Vernal Equinox cache. To experience them both in the same day was a great way to bring in the first day of spring!
By the time we left the pancake breakfast and headed to Lower Huron, the sun had disappeared and the wind kicked up turning a nice spring day, into a rather cool one. It took Riley just moments to find the cache, and the girls selected 'treasures' while I signed the log. The girls took a b.b. puzzle game and some sticker tape. We left a couple of beanie babies, a Little Golden Book, and a travel bug.
I decided that maybe we should try to make videos of our caching adventures -- obviously we need more pratice!
