This morning, the girls and I joined some other Friends of Oakwoods and volunteered at the morning pancake breakfasts and maple sugar/syrup programs. While I took pictures, the girls stayed busy helping serve breakfast, keeping the juice cups filled, and of course eating too. Roni and her mom even spoiled the girls by making special turtle shaped pancakes for them.
Kennedy was especially nervous about asking people if they needed anything, or would like more to eat. I guess all those talks with her about talking to strangers really sunk in. I can tell when she is nervous because not only does she stammer and drag her feet, but I also catch her chewing on the sleeve of her shirt, and boy was it soaking wet! LOL.
We are already looking forward to other upcoming Friends of Oakwoods opportunities. I guess it just allows us to "give back" to the great park and group of people that bring so much happiness and adventures to us.
