With Kennedy at a sleepover, and Riley at her mom's, I spent the evening at Oakwoods nature center attending their Full Moon and Bonfire program. The remnants of the snow storm frightened away about half of those registered, and ultimately prevented us from seeing the moon, but Kevin, Roni, and Ann did an outstanding job of keeping everyone entertained with legends and lore of the wolf moon.
Towards the end of the program, foil wrapped bananas were put onto the coals of the fire, and after roasting for a while, we were treated to one of the most delicious snacks that I have ever eaten. Prior to being wrapped in foil, the bananas (with peels intact) were sliced lengthwise and filled with mini marshmallows and butterscotch & chocolate chips creating 'warm banana splits'! We will be having those again!
